Update on the Tapperts

Update on the Tapperts

Phil and Sally Tappert are United Methodist missionaries to France whom we support through our church.  Here is an update of what is going on in their ministry.

If there is one thing our students are learning to do, it is to rely on the Lord for their futures. We, too, are relying on Him to supply the needs of the CFU ministry despite the strong euro/weak dollar situation which is wreaking havoc with our CFU budget. We are especially grateful, therefore, our support gift this month!!

Yes, God is greater than any problem we have, and three of our students in particular are waiting for Him to provide: they have finished their studies and need jobs!

Mami, by God’s grace, finished his doctorate last May after eleven years-despite all the obstacles his atheist professor threw in his way.  Along the way, however he lost out on two positions as a professor and now that he has his degree, nothing is available. (He continues to work as a janitor!) His doctorate is in Political Science and he is even willing to move to the United States if he can find a position there. So, if you know of anything, you could be God’s instrument in answering this prayer!

Gabriel needs a job to obtain ihis legal status and stay in France, but he needs his legal papers in order to get a job.  He has been caught in this vicious circle for over a year now.  Please pray that God will move to open up a way for Gabriel to stay in France with the rest of his family.

Brice finished his internship in computers last spring but has been unable to find work since then.  Please pray for him because it is easy to get discouraged.

The best unemployment rate in France is about the same is the worst in the United Sates-about 13%.  Some areas in northern France have 27% unemployment! So these students know that their future will be orchestrated by the Lord, and they stand ready and willing to give Him all the credit and glory!  Thank you for praying for this month’s “Prayer Partner Project,” Mami, Gabriel, and Brice as well as for the CFU ministry and our family!

And thank you again for your support gift this month.  You are a blessing and encouragement both to us and to the students.

Love in Christ,

Phil & Sally

P.S. We also have some friends/supporters of this CFU ministry who are looking for work.  Please remember Mark, Mary, George, Ted, Justin, Denis, Tim, Larry, and Dan in your prayers-as well as any and all others who are out of work in these strange economic times. Thank you!!
